'Mad Science Workshop', December 2015
This week, the 'Mad Science Company' offered Year 3 and Year 5 a workshop on 'Electricity and Energy' to support the new science curriculum.
The children were treated to a hands-on, fun session which included making our own crude oil (which consists of organic matter, including dead fish and plants, sand and stones and pebbles)
The children were also asked a true/false quiz on energy. To find out the answers to the questions, the children made observations using magnets, copper wire and a generator to create energy.
The final practical activity allowed the children to explore how energy from a power station, pylons and sub-stations is received into our homes. We had our own electricity circuit in our classroom.
We had a fantastic morning, learning many new facts and having fun at the same time!
Enjoy looking at our photographs,
